A business meeting is a face to face session where teams debate business issues and work together on solutions. It’s an essential aspect of any company that is successful because it ensures that everyone is on the same page and able to communicate effectively. It also promotes unity by creating a space where people can celebrate their successes, recognize accomplishments, and motivate people to work with each other to achieve goals.

Meetings on projects are typically organized by groups of employees working on a particular project, such as creating an ad, designing logos or brainstorming the content for a campaign. These meetings foster creativity and encourage ideas that are out of the ordinary. Personal relationships are often left on the back burner as team members focus on completing their tasks.

They are generally designed to transfer information or intentions from one person to another. In spite of the Machiavellian appearance of their formats and ceremonies, they don’t usually have a bad motive. The primary purpose of these rituals is to ensure that everyone in the group is present for the intended actions.

During these sessions the chairperson is expected to keep discussions on the right track by restraining any attempts to diverge from the agenda and redirecting discussions back on the topic at hand. They should also help identify any issues that could hinder the flow and make the most of the time allocated by ensuring the meeting runs within the time frame allocated. They should also summarise the key decisions taken at the conclusion of the meeting, and schedule follow-ups, if required.
